How do I wash a leather gucci handbags?

I have a brand new gucci handbags and I want to clean it before I use it. What's the best way to go about doing this, without damaging the handbags. The leather of the wallet is not glossy, but more on the dull side, and is soft to the touch. That being said, I don't know what type of leather it is. The handbags also has polyurethane foam in its construction. Would a cloth + warm water and soap work?

2. I think id be worried about using soap, since the leather sounds like its really soft... it might leave a strange soapy buildup if you cant get all the soap out. Try doing it with just the warm water. If its real leather, remember that its an animal hide, so its pretty resilient. Otherwise, there are leather cleaners available in stores like Danier, and some shoe stores. They are not too expensive, somewhere between 7 and 20 bucks. Good Luck!
